Central government led by PM Narendra Modi has done Digital Strike on China. In this article, we will tell you about the List of Chinese Apps Banned by Indian government. Ministry of Information & Technology had banned 59 apps on 29 June 2020, 47 clone apps on 28 July 2020, 118 apps on 2 September 2020, 43 apps on 24 November 2020 and finally 54 apps on 14 February 2022. This banned app list also comprises of names of popular games such as Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG), Ludo World, APUS launcher, Lamour, LivU, Wechat work among others.
List of Chinese Apps Banned in India
The central govt. move to ban chinese apps comes in the backdrop of the tension between India and China on the Line of Actual Control (LAC). China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has for over 12 months now has been trying to shift its boundary with India in Ladakh. This is the Digital Strike on China by the IT Ministry of Indian government.

Digital Strike 2 – 47 Clone Apps Banned (Update as on 28 July 2020)
In addition to the apps banned in Digital Strike 1 as mentioned below, govt. has also banned 47 other apps which are clone copies of the earlier banned apps like Helo Lite, Tiktok Lite, Shareit Lite, Bigo Live Lite and others. So, the total number of 267 apps have been banned by the Indian government as a part of Digital Strike against China.

All these apps as well as their mirror mobile apps would now stand banned in India. The apps would be removed from the google play store (android users) as well as apple app store (iPhone users). The name in the List of Banned Chinese App List signifies that no new update from now onward would be available and app will stop functioning.
