How to Apply Online for AICTE PG (GATE/GPAT/CEED) Scholarship 2026
The application for the AICTE PG Scholarship is done online through the official portal. The institute first creates a student ID on the portal, and then the student logs in to fill the application form. Below is the complete process to apply online for the AICTE PG Scholarship Scheme:-
STEP 1 - Visit the official AICTE PG Scholarship portal at https://pgscholarship.aicte.gov.in/.
STEP 2 - On the homepage, go to the PG Scholarship section and click on the link to proceed to the GATE/GPAT Scholarship Student ID Verification tab. You can also reach this page from the AICTE website at aicte.gov.in.
STEP 3 - In the new window, click at the "Apply for PG Scholarship (GATE/GPAT)" link or open the General Instruction page.
STEP 4 - Scroll down to reach the "Click here to proceed to GATE/GPAT Scholarship Student ID Verification tab" button and click it.
STEP 5 - Afterwards, the AICTE PG (GATE/GPAT) Scholarship Scheme apply form will appear as shown below:-

STEP 6 - Here in this Student ID Verification application form for the AICTE PG Scholarship Scheme, applicants can fill in details. It includes State, Institute Permanent ID, Student ID and Date of Birth.
Finally, applicants can click at the "Validate" button to complete the AICTE Post Graduate Scholarship Scheme registration process. It is important to note that the Student ID / Institute Permanent ID may be obtained from your institute. For new institutes / deemed universities, the current application number and permanent ID are the same.

Eligibility Criteria for AICTE PG Scholarship Scheme
Only those candidates who meet the below mentioned criteria are eligible for the AICTE PG (GATE/GPAT/CEED) Scholarship Scheme:-
- Only GATE/GPAT/CEED qualified candidates are eligible for the scholarship.
- Candidates admitted for part time courses are not eligible for the scholarship.
- Bank account name and candidate name should be the same.
- Joint accounts are not permitted for the scholarship.
- Student must have a general savings account in the bank. (Minor and no frills accounts will not be accepted)
- GATE candidates admitted in engineering and architecture programs, GPAT candidates admitted in pharmacy programs and CEED candidates admitted in design programs alone are eligible.
- Admissions before or after GATE/GPAT/CEED validity shall not be considered for the scholarship.
- Creamy layer OBC candidates who had qualified under the OBC category are not eligible for the scholarship.
- Candidates qualified under SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/Physically Handicapped without an authentic certificate are not eligible for the scholarship.
The scholarship shall be given from the date of commencement of classes or the date of admission (whichever is later) to the completion of the course or the date of submission of thesis. The scholarship will be paid for a maximum period of 24 months or till the completion of the course or the date of submission of thesis, whichever is earlier.
List of Documents Required for AICTE PG (GATE/GPAT/CEED) Scholarship
Here is the complete list of documents required for the AICTE Post Graduate Scholarship Scheme:-
- Recent authentic non-creamy layer (NCL) certificate is required for OBC candidates (not more than 1 year old)
- Documents in support of SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/Physically Handicapped certificate shall be attested by the institute principal or a gazetted officer
- SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/Physically Handicapped certificate should be in Hindi/English, otherwise it should be translated and verified in Hindi/English by a notary officer or by the principal on institute letter head. Student shall upload both the original and translated certificate
- All other attachments shall be self-attested by the candidate
It is important to note that only clear and readable attachments shall be accepted. The bank account should be active and linked with Aadhaar, since the scholarship is released through the Aadhaar Bridge Payment System (ABPS) mode through PFMS.
Stipend Amount in GATE/GPAT/CEED Scholarship Scheme by AICTE
As per the official notification, students will get a monthly stipend of Rs. 12,400 per month for a duration of 2 years or till their course is completed, whichever happens sooner. In addition, students will also get an annual contingency grant of Rs. 20,000 as per the scholarship notification.

What are the eligibility criteria for grant of PG Scholarship
Post Graduate Scholarship is entitled only to full time GATE/GPAT/CEED qualified students admitted to AICTE approved programs viz. Master of Engineering, Master of Technology, Master of Architecture, Master of Pharmacy and Master of Design courses in AICTE approved institutions and AICTE approved university departments.
Are the students qualifying GATE/GPAT exam after seeking admission in the course eligible for grant of PG scholarship
Any student who qualifies the GATE/GPAT exam after the date of admission shall not be eligible for grant of scholarship for any reason whatsoever.
What is the procedure for applying online for grant of PG scholarship through DBT
Proposals for grant of PG Scholarship are called for through advertisement in leading newspapers. Students and institutes are advised to follow the procedure and guidelines contained therein. The copy of the advertisement can be viewed by visiting the AICTE portal at aicte.gov.in.
What are the documents required to be uploaded by the student
Scanned PDF copy of GATE/GPAT/CEED score card, passbook, aadhaar card, caste certificate, Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) certificate for OBC (not more than 1 year old).
Can the Joint Account with family members be uploaded
No, Joint account is not accepted. Only a Basic General Savings account or Normal account should be opened in the name of the student in any Nationalized bank.
What is the last date to apply online for AICTE PG Scholarship Scheme
The last date for online submission of the application by the student for the academic year 2025-26 was 15 December 2025. The last date for verification by the institutes was 31 December 2025.
