Gujarat government's Mukhyamantri Mahila Utkarsh Yojana (MMUY) is accepting applications in 2026 for interest-free loans of up to ₹1 lakh for women who join a Joint Liability Earning and Savings Group (JLESG). Registration is open on the official portal at mmuy.gujarat.gov.in, and eligible women can apply through their group with zero collateral, zero processing fee and no interest for the full loan term.

Each JLESG has 10 women members, and every member can get a loan of ₹1 lakh. So a single group of 10 women can together get financial support of up to ₹10 lakh under this scheme. Gujarat Women Economic Development Corporation (GWEDC) runs the scheme along with the Women and Child Development Department. For more state schemes, women can also check the Mari Yojana Gujarat portal.

Mukhyamantri Mahila Utkarsh Yojana 2026 Details

This scheme was launched in September 2020 to help women start small businesses like tailoring, beauty parlours, dairy work, kirana shops, handicrafts, food processing units and other micro-enterprises. In 2026, the whole process has become fully online through the MMUY portal, which makes group registration and loan application much easier for women in both rural and urban areas of Gujarat.

The state government bears the interest cost of the loan, so members do not pay any interest. Members who repay their instalments on time also get an extra 6% per year subsidy as an incentive for good repayment behaviour. The repayment period is 5 years, which gives enough time to run the business and repay in small parts.

Announced in the Gujarat Budget 2020-21, the scheme was launched on 17 September 2020 by the then Chief Minister Vijay Rupani. The current Chief Minister of Gujarat is Bhupendra Patel. The scheme continues to run under the Women and Child Development Department through GWEDC.
