Benefits
The yearly amount is not the same for every student. It is fixed as per the course group and the hostel or day scholar status of the student. As per the 2026-27 circular, a hosteller in Group A gets ₹5,000 and a day scholar in Group D gets ₹1,500.

Eligibility

The caste certificate and income certificate must be issued only by a competent authority. The Aadhaar number must be linked and seeded with the bank account because the payment is Aadhaar-based. Students with annual family income of ₹2.50 lakh or less should apply under PM YASASVI Post Matric Scholarship for OBC, EBC and DNT students instead of this scheme.
Documents
Students should keep scanned copies of original documents ready before starting the online form. Only original documents should be scanned and uploaded. A copy may be uploaded only when the original is not available.

- Income certificate of the guardian issued by the competent authority. If the father or guardian is in government service, Form-16 must be uploaded along with it.
- Bank passbook first page or a cancelled cheque showing account number, IFSC code and branch name.

Application Process
The application for academic year 2026-27 has to be completed online on the Digital Gujarat Portal at Gujarat State Scholarship Portal and through the Citizen Login at Digital Gujarat Citizen Login. The steps given below are based on the official guideline circular of the Director of Developing Caste Welfare.
STEP 1 - Open the Digital Gujarat Portal and click on Login, then go to Citizen Login or Registration and click on New Registration (Citizen). Register with a mobile number, email ID and a password set by the student. Both the email ID and mobile number are required.
STEP 2 - After registration, log in again using the mobile number as username and the password created. Update the profile by clicking on My Profile. The circular states that an online application can be submitted only after My Profile is updated.
STEP 3 - Students who registered in an earlier year should not register again. They can log in with their earlier Login ID and password. If a password is forgotten, click Forgot Password, get the OTP on the registered mobile number and create a new password.
STEP 4 - After logging in, go to the Services menu and click on Scholarship Services. Scholarship applications cannot be filed from any other place on the portal. Students of Developing Caste should look under the heading Director Developing Caste Welfare.
STEP 5 - Click on Request a New Service, select Financial Year 2026-27 in the drop-down menu, and click on BCK-78 Post Matric Scholarship if eligible. Click Continue to Service and fill Registration Detail, Bank Detail, Academic Detail and Disability Detail carefully.
STEP 6 - Upload all applicable documents in the Attachment section. Scan and upload original documents. Upload the latest passport size photograph and click Verify Mobile Number to get the OTP.
STEP 7 - Complete Confirm and Final Submit after checking the terms and conditions. Take a printout of the submitted application, attach the required supporting evidence and submit it to the school, college or institution.
Important Instructions
The circular gives clear instructions that must be followed. A student who applies in the wrong scheme will not get the difference amount later, and a student who hides information or files a duplicate application can be blacklisted for scholarship.
- Application must be completed and final submitted online. If the printout with all documents is not submitted to the institution, the application will not be considered.
