Mamasaheb Phadke Management of Govt Adarsh Residential Schools (SC) Scheme is also known as BCK-28, Mama Saheb Fadke Ideal Residential Schools for Scheduled Caste Scheme. It helps bright SC students continue their education after standard 8 by giving them a stable residential environment. Around 28 ideal residential schools are running in the state and they accommodate about 2229 students.

Students who get admission receive free lodging, boarding, and education facilities from standard 9 to 12. The government has also approved starting three new schools for girls at Palanpur, Nadiad, and Anand. For the 2026-27 session, a total of 35 ideal residential schools at secondary and higher secondary level have been set up in Gujarat, with 8 schools for girls and 27 for boys.

For the 2026-27 session, seat reservation in these schools is 60% for SEBC, 15% for EWS, 12.5% for Scheduled Caste, 12.5% for Scheduled Tribe, and 5% for persons with disabilities.
