Konkani Song and Music Awards (Tiatr Kantaram) is a state-level scheme of the Government of Goa that supports and honours talented artists. It is run by the Tiatr Academy of Goa under the Art, Culture and Museums Department. The scheme encourages producers, lyricists, singers, and musicians who put time and money into making quality Konkani audio, video, and digital albums of Tiatr songs. It gives cash awards from ₹5,000 to ₹30,000 across twelve separate categories to help artists keep creating.
The awards are presented every year for albums released in the previous year. Whether someone is a solo singer, a child artist, a lyricist, or a music composer, there is a category designed for them. The main aim of the Tiatr Academy is to push producers to make good quality albums so that the rich Konkani kantar tradition stays alive and grows stronger.
