One District One Focus Product Scheme ODOFP

Central government has launched PM One District One Focus Product Scheme 2024 at odop.mofpi.gov.in. The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare in consultation with Ministry of Food Processing Industries has finalized the products for ODOFP Scheme. The products have been identified from agricultural, horticultural, animal, poultry, milk, fisheries and aquaculture, marine sectors for 728 districts across the country. People can now check the complete district wise ODOFP Product List as finalized by the govt. for One District One Focus Produce Scheme.

One District One Focus Product Scheme 2024 – ODOFP Details

The list of products under One District One Focus Product Scheme 2024 have been finalized after taking inputs from the States/UTs and Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). These ODOFP products will be promoted in a cluster approach through convergence of the Government of India schemes. The main aim of One District One Focus Produce Scheme is to increase the value of the products and with the ultimate aim of increasing the income of the farmers. With the aim to boost export of agriculture products, the Centre has identified several products under 15 broad categories, allotting one product for each of the country’s 728 districts. It would ensure that there is convergence of resources under different schemes of various ministries and also it helps increase farmers income. Support to Products in One District One Focus Produce Scheme

The identified products under One District One Focus Product Scheme will be supported under the PM Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises. PM-FME scheme of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries aims to provide incentives to promoter and micro-enterprises. Many products also include convergence of resources and approach from the other departments.

ODOP Mofpi India Wise Product Details

The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare will support ODOFP from its ongoing centrally sponsored schemes such as MIDH, NFSM, RKVY, PKVY. The implementation of ODOFP by State Governments will benefit farmers and provide support for realizing the expectations of value addition and subsequently enhancing agricultural exports.

Background of One District One Focus Product Scheme

The programme, named as One District One Focus Produce (ODOFP), was announced earlier on Saturday. It took almost 9 months to design after Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his interaction with officials in May last year on ways to boost the agriculture sector. PM Modi underlined the importance of developing Brand India for which agri-clusters can be promoted. The government has already set a target to achieve $60 billion agri exports by FY22.

PM-FME Scheme – Credit Linked Subsidy for Infrastructure / Marketing of ODOFP Products

Under the Rs 10,000-crore FME scheme, launched last year, two lakh micro-enterprises are targeted to be assisted with credit-linked subsidy over a five-year period to help create infrastructure and marketing of these ODOFP products. The unorganised food processing sector has nearly 25 lakh units (66% located in rural areas), which contribute to 74% of the total employment in the sector, while the remaining 25% work in the organised industries.
