Odisha government has launched a fresh scholarship programme called Odisha Videsh Siksha Bruti Scheme for SC and ST students who dream of studying abroad. This new update will start from the 2025 academic year and will give yearly financial support of up to ₹25 lakh to selected students for their PG and PhD studies in top foreign universities.
This scheme has been announced by Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj to help bright students from SC and ST families who face money problems while trying to study overseas. Along with this launch, the government also handed appointment letters to 34 newly recruited Group C and D college staff and declared that Odisha is now the first state to receive authorisation for complete Academic Performance Audits across all higher education institutions.
