Dr NTR Vaidya Seva Scheme is the main health assurance scheme of Andhra Pradesh government. It gives cashless treatment up to ₹25 lakh per family a year to eligible families across all 26 districts of the state.
The scheme was earlier known as the Rajiv Aarogyasri Scheme. After the state was divided, Andhra Pradesh government renamed it as Dr NTR Vaidya Seva and raised the financial cover. The scheme is run by Dr NTR Vaidya Seva Trust under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister.
About Dr NTR Vaidya Seva Scheme
Under this scheme, families with an annual income up to ₹5 lakh get cashless treatment at 523 empanelled government and private hospitals. The scheme covers 3,257 listed therapies across 31 medical specialities, including cardiac surgery, cancer treatment, neurosurgery, kidney care, orthopaedics and organ transplantation.
All pre-existing conditions are covered from Day 1. Cancer patients have no financial limit. The whole treatment process is cashless from admission to surgery, daily medicines, meals, tests, nursing care and 10 days of medicines at discharge.
A Vaidya Mithra is posted at every empanelled hospital to help patients with registration, eligibility check, pre-authorisation and discharge. Beneficiaries can also call the 104 medical helpline, available 24x7 all year.

How to Get Treatment Under the Scheme
Dr NTR Vaidya Seva Scheme does not need a separate online application for treatment. Eligible families can directly visit any empanelled network hospital for cashless treatment. The steps are given below.
STEP 1 - Visit the nearest Dr NTR Vaidya Seva empanelled network hospital. Search the full hospital list at drntrvaidyaseva.ap.gov.in. You can also reach through a referral from a Village Health Clinic, Primary Health Centre, 104 Family Physician or 108 Emergency Ambulance.
STEP 2 - Meet the Vaidya Mithra at the hospital help desk on arrival. The Vaidya Mithra checks your eligibility through the scheme portal using your Aadhaar card, ration card or other approved documents and registers you in the online system.
STEP 3 - Submit your Aadhaar card, ration card or eligibility document, medical records and diagnostic reports to the Vaidya Mithra. Also give your bank details to receive the Aarogya Aasara allowance directly in your account.
STEP 4 - The doctor examines you and checks whether your condition is covered under the listed therapies. If covered, a pre-authorisation request is sent to the Trust, which approves it within 12 hours. In emergencies, telephonic pre-authorisation is available 24x7.
STEP 5 - After approval, the hospital provides complete cashless treatment. All medicines, tests, meals and nursing services are covered. The treatment cost is settled directly between the hospital and the Trust, so you pay nothing.
