Maharashtra Old Age Pension Scheme, also known as Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme (IGNOAPS), is accepting online applications at mahadbt.maharashtra.gov.in. Under this scheme, the state government provides ₹1,500 per month to senior citizens through a mix of central and state support. National Old Age Pension Scheme Maharashtra is managed by the Social Justice and Special Assistance (SJSA) department.
Under this scheme in Maharashtra, people aged 65 years and above from BPL families are eligible. Beneficiaries between 65 and 79 years receive ₹200 per month from Govt. of India under IGNOAPS and ₹1,300 per month from the state government under Shravan Bal Seva Rajya Nivrutti Vetan Yojana. In total, such beneficiaries get ₹1,500 per month. Senior citizens aged 80 years and above receive ₹500 per month from Govt. of India under IGNOAPS and ₹1,000 per month from the state government, again totaling ₹1,500 per month. This fixed pension amount is directly transferred every month.
Apart from BPL families, destitute senior citizens with annual family income up to ₹21,000 can also get the full ₹1,500 state pension under Shravanbal Seva State Pension Scheme. The state pension was revised to this flat ₹1,500 amount from 2026. For disabled applicants, the income limit is ₹50,000 per year. Pension is credited directly to the Aadhaar-linked bank account, usually between the 1st and 10th of every month.
