Sh. Rahul Gandhi has launched Chhattisgarh Gramin Awas Nyay Yojana on 25 September 2023. Congress leader has transferred an amount of Rs. 1200 crore to the bank accounts of beneficiaries of छत्तीसगढ़ ग्रामीण आवास न्याय योजना. The new rural housing scheme aims to provide free housing facility to the poor people.
It aims to benefit 47,090 homeless families from Socio-Economic survey 2023 and 6,99,439 families who are on a permanent waiting list of central govt’s PMAY scheme. More than 7 lakh beneficiaries are expected to benefit in the 1st phase. A total of 10 lakh 76 thousand beneficiaries are expected to benefit in the upcoming phases.
CM Bhupesh Baghel had earlier made the announcement regarding launch of a new rural housing scheme on 19 July 2023.
About CG Gramin Awas Nyay Yojana 2024
Congress leader released Chhattisgarh Gramin Awas Nyay Yojana 1st installment on 25 Sept 2023. It aims to benefit homeless families from Socio-Economic survey 2023 and those families who are on a permanent waiting list of central govt’s PMAY scheme. A total of 10,76,000 beneficiaries are expected to benefit in the next phases.
Beneficiaries under Gramin Awaas Nyay Yojana
- Only citizens of Chhattisgarh state are eligible for Gramin Awas Nyay Yojana.
- Only poor families residing in the rural areas can get the benefits of this scheme.
- Those families who are ineligible under the PM Awas Yojna due to non inclusion of name in SECC 2011 data will be the beneficiary under the Gramin Awaas Nyay Yojna.

Need to Start New Rural Housing Scheme in Chhattisgarh
Due to the determination of eligibility for Prime Minister’s Rural Housing Scheme (PMAY Gramin) on the basis of the survey list of Socio-Economic Survey 2011, in the present situation, the needy families of the state are facing difficulty in getting housing approval.
To overcome this, on the basis of the survey conducted by the Panchayat and Rural Development Department, CM has announced to start “Gramin Awas Nyay Yojana” for the eligible families from the resources of the state.
CG Gramin Awas Nyay Yojana 2023 Announcement
CM Bhupesh Baghel had announced Chhattisgarh Gramin Awas Yojana on 19 July 2023. CM said “आवासहीन परिवारों को पक्का आवास उपलब्ध कराना हमारी प्राथमिकता है। सामाजिक आर्थिक सर्वेक्षण 2011 की सर्वे सूची के आधार पर प्रधानमंत्री ग्रामीण आवास की पात्रता निर्धारित होने से वर्तमान स्थिति में प्रदेश के ज़रूरतमंद परिवारों को आवास स्वीकृति में कठिनाई हो रही है। इसे दूर करने के लिए पंचायत एवं ग्रामीण विकास विभाग द्वारा किए गए सर्वे के आधार पर पात्र परिवारों के लिए राज्य के संसाधनों से ‘ग्रामीण आवास न्याय योजना’ प्रारंभ करने की घोषणा करता हूँ।”
Gramin Awas Nyay Yojana Apply Online Process
The new Gramin Awas Nyay Yojana is an eligibility based scheme where beneficiaries are selected from either Social Economic Survey 2023 conducted by Department of Panchayat and Rural Development or Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) 2011 data. There is no online application form to apply for the scheme and even a dedicated portal has not been launched yet (till 26 September 2023). No online registration is also evident from the fact that 1st installment has already been transferred in bank accounts of beneficiaries on 25 Sept 2023.
