AICTE-ISTE Induction-Refresher Programme Scheme offers financial support of up to ₹3,00,000 to AICTE-approved institutions and universities for organising one-week training programmes for teaching faculty. In 2026, AICTE continues to invite fresh proposals for these programmes through its official partner portal.

All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) manages this scheme with the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE). The main aim is to improve the professional and teaching skills of faculty working in technical colleges so that students get better quality education.

AICTE-ISTE Induction-Refresher Programme Scheme - Introduction

Under this scheme, AICTE-approved universities and institutions can apply to host induction or refresher training for teaching staff. The training helps teachers update their subject knowledge, learn modern teaching methods and stay aware of current industry needs.

Institutions can apply for two kinds of training under the scheme:

  • Induction training for newly recruited teachers.
  • Refresher training for existing faculty to update their knowledge.

Programme Duration

Each training programme must last one week, which works out to six working days. AICTE funds around 100 refresher programmes and 50 orientation programmes every year, with ₹3,00,000 support for each programme.
