Application Process

STEP 1 - Visit the official Meghalaya e-District portal at megedistrict.gov.in and look for the service titled Registration for IT Awards for Meritorious Students.

STEP 2 - Before filling the form, check the provisional merit list published on the DITC website to confirm your eligibility. Your name must appear in the list to proceed with registration.

STEP 3 - Fill in your qualifying examination marks, school details, and personal information like your date of birth, gender, and contact number in the online form.

STEP 4 - Upload a clear, passport-size photograph sized between 20 KB and 300 KB. Make sure the image is legible and meets the specified size requirements.

STEP 5 - After entering your address and completing the captcha verification, click on Submit to finish your application. Save or print the registration confirmation for future reference.

Important Tips: Always check the published list of eligible students. If you scored qualifying marks but your name is missing from the list, you may visit the Directorate of Information Technology & Communications in Shillong with your original documents for verification. You can also submit claims or objections in writing on or before 03 September 2026.

Eligibility

To qualify for this award, you should meet the following criteria:

  • You must be currently studying within Meghalaya, or be a resident of the state who is pursuing studies outside Meghalaya.
  • You should have secured a top rank in your respective annual school board examinations conducted in 2026.
  • Your board examinations must be conducted by recognized bodies, specifically the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE), the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), or the Central Board for School Education (CBSE).
  • For Class XII students, you should have topped in any of the three main streams: Arts, Commerce, or Science.
  • For ICSE, ISC, and CBSE boards, eligibility is restricted to students who appeared from schools affiliated with their respective boards and located within Meghalaya.

Note for MBOSE Students: You are also eligible if you are a subject topper in critical areas like Mathematics, Science, or Computer Application for Class X, or Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, or Computer Application for Class XII. Please note that you can receive only one award per year. If you qualify as both a top ranker and a subject topper, you receive the improved award version.
