Supply of Insulated Boxes

Goa Fisheries Department runs the Supply of Insulated Boxes scheme to help fishermen and fish sellers keep their catch fresh. The scheme offers a 75% subsidy on the purchase of insulated boxes with a minimum capacity of 50 liters, supporting those engaged in retail fish marketing, canoe fishing, and mechanized vessel fishing.

Benefit amounts depend on the type of fishing activity and the box size chosen. Active fish sellers, canoe fishers, and those operating mechanized vessels with up to 6-cylinder engines can all apply. The application process is offline only, and there is no fee to apply. The scheme is open for eligible people in Goa and applications are accepted throughout the year.

Benefits

The subsidy is 75% of the cost for each insulated box, with the following maximum limits per box:

Eligible people can get one box of each applicable size per category. The total subsidy across all boxes can go up to ₹ 15,000 depending on the vessel type.

Eligibility

You can apply if you fall into any of these categories:

• You are a fisherman actively engaged in selling and marketing fish.
• You are a fisherman engaged in fishing at sea using a canoe.
• You are a fisherman operating a mechanized fishing vessel with an engine capacity of up to 6 cylinders.

The scheme is made for individual applicants only and is specific to the state of Goa.

Application Process

STEP 1 - Download and print the prescribed application form from the Department of Fisheries website or obtain it directly from the Directorate of Fisheries office at Dayanand Bandodkar Marg, Patto Colony, Panaji, Goa - 403 521.

STEP 2 - Fill in all the required fields accurately. Paste a passport-sized photograph and sign across it. Attach self-attested copies of all the necessary documents listed below based on your category of beneficiary.

STEP 3 - Submit the completed form and documents to the Department of Fisheries at the above address, or to the relevant official at your local BDO Office or Sub-Office of the Fisheries Department.

Fishing Vessel Owners (400L & 220L capacity):

1. Copy of the Vessel Registration Certificate (VRC).
2. Latest copy of your updated Fishing License or Certificate.
3. Latest copy of your updated Net License Book.
4. Copy of your Aadhaar Card.

Canoe Owners (100L & 220L capacity):

1. Copy of the Vessel Registration Certificate (VRC).
2. Latest copy of your updated Fishing License or Certificate.
3. Latest copy of your updated Net License Book.
4. Copy of your Aadhaar Card.

Active Fish Sellers (50L capacity):

1. Certificate from your local Village Panchayat or Municipality proving you are actively engaged in fish retail.
