Gujarat Ganga Swarupa Yojana 2026 Widow Pension Amount, Eligibility and Application Process

Gujarat govt. runs Ganga Swarupa Yojana 2026 to give a monthly pension to widowed women. This scheme was earlier known as Vidhva Sahay Yojna and was renamed Ganga Swaroop Beheno Ne Sahayata Yojana. Under this widow pension scheme, every eligible vidhwa beneficiary gets Rs. 1250 per month. This article covers the pension amount, income eligibility criteria and how to apply for the scheme.

Chief Minister has launched the Central Government's National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) Portal. This portal helps in Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) of the monthly pension directly to 3.70 lakh widows, elderly and disabled women across 33 districts in the state.

The pension amount of Rs. 1250 per month is deposited in the bank accounts of widow beneficiaries in the first week of every month.

Gujarat state govt. provides a pension amount of Rs. 1250 per month under Ganga Swarupa Yojana 2026. Gujarat CM has also started the NSAP portal to help in the DBT transfer of pension into widow women's accounts. The amount is transferred directly to the post office accounts of the target women group with a single click. The scheme is implemented by the Gujarat government's Women and Child Development department.

The state govt's earlier "Vidhva Sahay Yojna" was renamed "Ganga Swarupa Yojna" to give more respect to the beneficiaries. Gujarat govt. raised the monthly pension amount from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 1,250 since April 2019. The Ganga Swarupa Yojana makes sure the amount is deposited in the 1st week of every month.

Income Eligibility Criteria for Ganga Swarupa Yojana

Gujarat state govt. more than doubled the annual income eligibility criteria from Rs. 47,000 to Rs. 1,20,000 for women living in rural areas. It also more than doubled the limit from Rs. 68,000 to Rs. 1,50,000 in urban areas. This raised the number of beneficiaries from 1.64 lakh to 3.70 lakh.

Who Can Apply and How to Apply

Only widowed women of Gujarat can apply for this scheme. The woman must be 18 years or above, and a woman who has remarried cannot apply. The scheme also continues for women even after their son reaches the age of 21 years.

Application for Ganga Swarupa Yojana is done offline. The applicant has to fill the form and submit it to the Taluka Mamlatdar office. In rural areas, the form can also be submitted through the Village Computer Entrepreneur (VCE) or the nearest Jan Seva Kendra.

STEP 1 - Collect the application form from the Taluka Mamlatdar office, Village Computer Entrepreneur (VCE) or the nearest Jan Seva Kendra.

STEP 2 - Fill in the form with the required details and attach the supporting documents such as the widow woman's photo, ration card copy, school leaving certificate, income proof, husband's death proof, Aadhaar card, light bill, birth certificate and proof of widow status.

STEP 3 - Submit the filled form to the Mamlatdar office. The Mamlatdar checks the details and approves the support. Once approved, the pension amount is deposited directly into the beneficiary's account.
