CG Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana 2026
Chhattisgarh government runs the Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana to reduce the money pressure that poor families face while marrying off their daughters. The scheme covers daughters of families living below the poverty line, as well as widowed, orphaned and destitute girls. The help amount is sent straight to the bride's bank account, so the family can use it only for the wedding.
The scheme was started in the financial year 2005-06. Over the years the support amount has been raised, and now the state government spends up to ₹50,000 for the marriage of each eligible girl. The main aim of the scheme is to encourage simple and collective weddings, stop dowry, and cut the money pressure on low-income households.
