Maharashtra government is all set to launch the MahaSamanvay Portal on 2nd October. At this new portal, citizens can easily check their scheme eligibility using a single MahaID linked to their Aadhaar number. This portal is going to change how welfare schemes are delivered in Maharashtra. The portal will offer more than 50 state and central schemes details and eligibility check facility. At present many schemes and services are being offered through the Aaple Sarkar portal which is expected to continue for service delivery.
By using the MahaID, state residents would be able to check the scheme benefits thy are already receiving and also find out new schemes they are eligible for. The new portal will also remove fake entries, ineligible beneficiaries, duplication and wrong payments, saving thousands of crores for the state.
The portal is built on a clean and verified “Golden Data” of 5 crore genuine beneficiaries. This new system is expected to not only help citizens but also support government departments in better planning, budgeting, and direct benefit transfer (DBT) of welfare schemes.
Every new welfare scheme announced in Maharashtra will have to select its beneficiaries from the MahaSamanvay database. This will make sure only eligible people get benefits, and money is not wasted. It will also build trust among citizens that government support reaches the right families.

After rigorous checks, the database has been brought down to 5 crore genuine records. This ensures that only true beneficiaries will be covered under welfare schemes.
The urgency for such a system came after audits of schemes like Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, where over 26 lakh ineligible people were found to be taking benefits. With Golden Data, such fake claims will be blocked in future.
