The state cabinet committee has also approved the implementation of Disabled Students Scholarship Scheme to bring physically handicapped students to the mainstream of society. According to guidelines of Kerala Students with Disability Scholarship Scheme 2024, each handicap student will get financial assistance of Rs. 500 per month to Rs. 2900 from 1st standard onward till the professional or PG courses.

Step 1: Firstly visit the official Kerala Social Justice Department website at http://sjd.kerala.gov.in/
Step 2: On homepage, click at the “Schemes” tab present in main menu or directly click http://sjd.kerala.gov.in/schemes.php

Eligibility Criteria for Kerala Disabled Students Scholarship Scheme 2024
Only those applicants who fulfills the eligibility criteria mentioned below will become eligible for Kerala Disability Scholarship Scheme for Disabled Students:-
- Disability category of students (Blind / Deaf / Orthopedically handicapped/ Mental Retardation) are eligible.
- Disability percentage should be 40 % or more.
- The total annual income of the family from all sources should not exceed Rs. 36,000.
- Those students who have not obtained 40% marks in the examination in the previous year need not apply.
- In case of Blind students, Reader’s allowance will be provided.
The Scholarship Scheme for Disabled Students will be implemented in the Kerala state as mentioned in government order.

The disabled students studying in Schools, Colleges and those who attending Professional, PG courses and technical trainings are being given scholarship by Social Justice Department. The annual family income of the applicant should be below Rs.36,000/- and they should obtain 40% marks in the examination in the previous year. - The applications must be submitted after the commencement of Academic year (within 3 months)
- The duly filled application forms must be submitted to the concerned District Social Justice Officer.
- The Application form must be filled in completely; incomplete as well as late applications will be rejected.
- Attested copy of Disability certificate from Medical Board.
- Income certificate from the concerned Village Officer.
