Uttarakhand government has launched Free Textbook Scheme on 15 March 2023. It aims to provide text books to general, OBC, SC, ST category students absolutely free of cost. Free Textbook Scheme in Uttarakhand Budget 2023-24
Finance minister presented Uttarakhand Budget Speech 2023-24 on 15 March 2023 in which he said “शिक्षा विभाग के तत्वावधान में प्रदेश के राजकीय एवं सहायता प्राप्त अशासकीय शिक्षण संस्थानों के कक्षा 9वीं से 12वी के सामान्य एवं पिछड़ी जाति के विद्यार्थियों हेतु निःशुल्क पाठ्य पुस्तकें उपलब्ध कराने हेतु रू. पच्चीस करोड़ (रू. 25.00 करोड़), अनुसूचित जाति के विद्यार्थियों को निःशुल्क पाठ्य पुस्तकें उपलब्ध कराने हेतु रू. दस करोड़ (रू. 10.00 करोड़) तथा अनुसूचित जनजाति के विद्यार्थियों को निःशुल्क पाठ्य पुस्तकें उपलब्ध कराने हेतु लगभग रु. एक करोड़ चौबीस लाख (रू. 1.24 करोड़) का प्रावधान किया गया है”.

- General / OBC Students – Rs. 25 crore
- SC Students – Rs. 10 crore
