Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana 2026 Details
Scheme covers marriage of girls, widows and abandoned women from poor households of Madhya Pradesh. Payment is not given for a single private wedding. Couples have to join a mass marriage ceremony fixed by the local urban body or District Panchayat on announced dates.
There is no income limit in this scheme, so families from General, OBC, SC and ST categories can all apply if the other rules are met. Money is handed over on the day of the ceremony, so families do not have to wait for months after the wedding. As of 04 August 2026, the scheme is running and applications keep opening every time a new mass marriage date is announced in a district.

How to Apply for Kanya Vivah Yojana
Application is offline. Form is free and you get it from the same office that arranges the ceremony in your area. Steps are simple, but the form has to reach the office well before the wedding date.
STEP 1 - Find out the mass marriage date announced by your Municipal Corporation, Municipality, City Council or District Panchayat. Rural families apply at the District Panchayat and city families apply at the urban body office.
STEP 2 - Collect the joint application form from that office free of cost. You can also read the scheme rules in the official scheme guidelines PDF before filling it.
STEP 3 - Fill the form jointly in the name of the bride and groom, attach the required documents, and submit it at least 15 days before the ceremony date.
STEP 4 - A checking committee reviews the form and enters the result in the marriage portal. Approval order is generated around 7 days before the ceremony. If your form is rejected, you can appeal to the Sub-Divisional Revenue Officer and the case is settled within 30 days.
Who Can Apply
Rules are mostly about age, state residence and the type of ceremony. Read these points before filling the form.
- Parents of the bride or groom should be residents of Madhya Pradesh. If the groom lives outside the state, the bride is still eligible when her parents are from the state.
- Bride should be 18 years or above and groom should be 21 years or above on the wedding date.
- Girls, widows and legally divorced women from poor families can apply, and the bride should not be married earlier.
- Families from General, OBC, SC and ST categories can apply, and there is no income limit.
- Couple has to marry in a government mass marriage ceremony, and at least 5 couples are needed for one ceremony to be held.
Documents Required
Keep photocopies ready along with the originals, because the office checks the originals at the time of submission.

- Samagra ID of the family, not required if the groom is from outside Madhya Pradesh.
- Aadhaar card copies of both bride and groom, along with active mobile numbers of the couple and parents.
- Age proof like school certificate, marksheet, birth certificate, voter ID card or a medical officer certificate.
- Two passport size photos each of the bride and groom.
- Death certificate of the husband for widows, and court divorce order for divorced women.
- Labour registration card if the family is registered with the Madhya Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
