Odisha mandates local MP presence for all PMGSY inaugurations
Odisha has enforced a central rule requiring the local Member of Parliament to be present at all foundation-laying and inauguration ceremonies for Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) works.
The Office of the Engineer-in-Chief of Rural Works, Odisha, issued a circular directing all Superintending Engineers and Executive Engineers to follow the Ministry of Rural Development guidelines without deviation.
A key directive states that no inauguration of any approved PMGSY project can happen without the association of the local MP. Elected representatives must be invited at least 15 days in advance via email, letter or SMS.
