Odisha launches PMAY-Urban BANDHU for migrant workers

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi started the PMAY-Urban BANDHU scheme in Bhubaneswar. This scheme offers cheap housing to migrant workers and low-income families. It helps them live close to their jobs at low rent.
Majhi placed the foundation stone for an Affordable Housing Project at Gadakan under this new scheme. Banks and financial institutions help with housing loans.
The Chief Minister also opened two big affordable housing projects. These are Nilakanteshwar Residency in Ghatikia with 928 houses and Muktaswar Residency in Gadakana with 680 houses. Together they give 1,608 affordable homes.
Over 2 lakh houses have been approved under PMAY-Urban in Odisha. The state government plans to build around 5 lakh houses through Antyodaya Griha Yojana.
