Maha Jobs Portal | Mahajobs Maharashtra | Rojgar Mahaswayam Login | rojgar.mahaswayam.gov.in. Maharashtra's Maha Jobs Portal, launched years back to connect local job seekers with industries, now works through the wider Mahaswayam Rojgar portal at rojgar.mahaswayam.gov.in. Maharashtra government had rolled out the standalone mahajobs.maharashtra.gov.in site in 2020 to help skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled workers find jobs with local industries, with a target of keeping 80% of jobs for domiciled candidates.
Registration and login for job seekers and employers under this scheme now happen on the Mahaswayam Rojgar portal, not on the older standalone mahajobs.maharashtra.gov.in address. Note for readers: the separate Maha Jobs Portal has been merged into the state's Rojgar Mahaswayam Portal, run by the Commissionerate of Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation. This single portal now handles job seeker and job provider registration, job fairs and internship schemes together.

Sectors Covered Under Mahajobs Portal
When the portal was first launched, Maharashtra government had shortlisted 950 plus trades across 17 sectors for recruitment of locals. Many of these sectors are still active on the current Mahaswayam job listings, including the ones given below.
- Automobile and engineering units, which need workers with technical and mechanical skills.
- Manufacturing, processing and textile or garmenting companies, which hire in bulk for factory floor roles.
- Logistics, pharmaceutical and biotechnology firms, which look for both skilled and semi-skilled staff.
Background - How Maha Jobs Portal Was Launched in 2020
MIDC had conducted a Human Resource Survey after industrial units reopened once COVID-19 lockdown rules were relaxed in Maharashtra. Out of around 65,000 units surveyed, close to 3,300 units responded, showing a need for about 50,000 employees, 70% of them skilled or semi-skilled and 30% unskilled. Based on this data, the state decided to build one portal where such units and job seekers could connect directly.
Then Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray launched Maha Jobs Portal on 6 July 2020 for unemployed candidates. Around the same time, the CM and the Industry Ministry had signed 12 MoUs worth an investment of about Rs. 16,000 crore. Maha Jobs Portal was also linked to a poll promise of the Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress alliance to reserve 80% of jobs in the state for local candidates, which later became part of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government's common minimum programme. Screenshots below show how the original registration form and login screen looked at the time of launch.
