Digilocker Online Document Storage and Registration process

The Central government has launched a Digilocker or Digital Locker application in July 2015. The main objective of this application was to store online documents and ensure safety to all the documents. This program is an initiative under “Digital India” program.

The primary aim of this scheme is to eliminate all the mess in usage of the physical documents. It enables the user to share his verified electronic documents across the various departments. There is no further need to carry files physically from one place to other place. Digital locker provides a separate account for each user to keep all the related documents in the locker.

Digilocker application can be downloaded in the android phone from google play store and also can be directly accessed on the website through desktop and laptop. The application user can store all the important files in the form of e-document.

Benefit of Digilocker

The Benefit of this application is to provide all documents anywhere and anytime. There is no more need to physically keep all the related files in bag or any other place in the house/ office. It will be an easy process for the user to receive or send any document. Moreover, this will save their time and efforts. We can use this application for:

    • Click on the “Sign up” button

    • After clicking, your phone number will be required

  • Then you will receive an OTP number on your registered mobile number
  • Enter your OTP number in “Verify OTP” section and click “Validate OTP” button
  • After verification, this application will ask you to create a username and password
  • Enter these details and click on the “Submit” button
  • After “Sign up” , it requires your Aadhaar number
  • Enter your Adhaar number and select “OTP” option
  • Then you will receive an OTP number on your registered mobile number
  • Now enter your OTP in the given section
  • Now you can “Sign in” this application.
