SC/ST patients eligible for medical aid up to ₹3.5 lakh under revised Dr Ambedkar Medical Aid Scheme

Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) patients needing surgery or special treatment for major health issues can get money help of up to ₹3.5 lakh through Dr Ambedkar Medical Aid Scheme for 2026. Families with a yearly income of up to ₹5 lakh can apply for this support, which pays for the full estimated treatment cost up to the set limit.

Assistance limits

• ₹3.5 lakh for kidney surgery, dialysis, and organ transplants.
• ₹2.5 lakh for cancer surgery, chemotherapy, or radiotherapy.
• ₹2 lakh for brain surgery and other life-threatening illnesses.
• ₹1.5 lakh each for heart and spinal surgery.

The money goes directly to the hospital. Applicants must send the form, an original cost estimate signed by the medical superintendent, income and caste certificates, and ID proofs to the Director, Dr Ambedkar Foundation, 15 Janpath, New Delhi-110001. Send your application at least 15 days before the treatment date.
