Nagaland gets PMAY-U award for 98.06% completion of BLC houses

Nagaland won the Best Performing State award for North Eastern and Hilly States and Union Territories. This is under the Beneficiary Led Construction (BLC) part of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U) Awards 2026.

okhan Sahu, Minister of State, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, gave the award on October 5, 2026. It happened during World Habitat Day 2026 events.

The state had the highest completion rate for BLC houses compared to total approved units under PMAY-U. Nagaland finished 98.06 per cent of the 29,973 homes approved under the scheme.
