Loans up to Rs 2 lakh available for rooftop solar installations up to 3 kW

Electrical Department, Longleng, ran an awareness session on Seva Setu Abhiyan under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana at DPDB Hall, Longleng, on Oct 14.

Exec Engineer Temjensangba CTN told the crowd about the rooftop solar plan. He said extra power made in the day goes to the grid, then comes back after dark. He listed govt subsidies for those who qualify.

Shilunaro Jamir from M/S Shan Enterprises, a registered solar vendor, walked through how to apply for the subsidy. She covered approval, fitting steps, and when money gets paid out.

SBI rep C Mhaden Yanthan made it clear that eligible people must file for subsidy on the official site. The bank won't handle claims for them.

He added that loans up to Rs 2 lakh exist for solar setups up to 3 kW. Applicants need to be 18 to 65 yrs old, with max tenure 10 yrs.
