What are Haryana’s New Stamp Duty Rules?
Following is the summary of the new 0 stamp duty rules in Haryana
- In rural areas, no stamp duty will be charged on residential plots up to 100 square yards (100 गज).
- In urban areas, no stamp duty will be charged on residential plots up to 50 square yards (50 गज).
- All houses allotted under PMAY, MMSAY and MMGAY will also need not to pay any stamp duty charges.
What is Stamp Duty?
Stamp duty is a tax paid during property registration. Removing it on such small houses and scheme-based plots will make buying and owning a home much easier for beneficiaries. The new rules are applicable from 27th August 2025.
What CM Saini Announced?
CM Nayab Singh Saini made this announcement in the Assembly. He said that the state government wants to support families who are getting homes under PMAY, MMSAY and MMGAY.
