Odisha government has launched the Basudha Scheme (Buxi Jagabandhu Assured Water Supply to Habitations) to make sure that every rural household in the state gets clean and safe piped drinking water. The scheme mainly covers water-scarce and rural areas where people face shortage of potable water.
What is Basudha Scheme?
Basudha Scheme focuses on providing continuous water supply through modern pipelines and treatment systems, along with proper sanitation and hygiene facilities. It is one of the biggest rural water projects running in Odisha with strong monitoring and community support.
The main goal is to provide safe and clean drinking water through piped connections to every rural home, especially in dry and water-stressed villages. The project improves both access and water quality in those habitations.
