With a strong budget allocation and structured benefits, Nijut Moina 2.0 is now one of the biggest education schemes for girls in Assam.
Nijut Moina First Installment in October 2025
The state has officially announced that the first DBT transfer will be made between 10th and 15th October 2025. This means eligible beneficiaries should check their linked bank accounts during this period. Students are advised to keep their Aadhaar-linked bank accounts active to avoid delays.

This first release is a big step under the scheme, backed by a massive ₹1,500 crore budget allocation, ensuring timely support for higher education.
Launched in 2024 and expanded in 2025 as Mukhya Mantri Nijut Moina 2.0, this scheme provides financial support ranging from ₹1,000 to ₹2,500 per month for girl students across Assam. The support continues from Class 11 till post-graduation, ensuring students do not leave their education because of money problems.
The Assam government has set a goal to support 10 lakh girl students under the scheme, with over 4.3 lakh students already identified to receive benefits in the financial year 2025-26.
