Indian Army Agniveer Registration 2026

Indian Army Agniveer Recruitment 2026 opened online applications on 13 February 2026 on the official website joinindianarmy.nic.in. The application window closed on 1 April 2026, and the online Common Entrance Exam (CEE) was conducted in June 2026 at exam centres across the country.

Only those candidates who completed Agniveer registration within the application window could sit in the online CEE exam. The exam is held in computer based mode, which keeps the selection process clear and reduces the crowd seen during recruitment rallies.

Agniveer Army Recruitment Process under Agnipath Scheme

Indian Army has been running the Agniveer recruitment process under the Agnipath scheme in three stages. The selection stages are given below.

• Stage 1 - Online CEE: The Common Entrance Exam is a computer based test. The question count and marks vary by post. General Duty posts carry 50 questions for 100 marks, while Technical and Clerk posts carry 50 questions for 200 marks.
• Stage 2 - Recruitment Rally: Candidates who clear the CEE appear for the recruitment rally. It includes a 1.6 km run, pull-ups, a 9-ft ditch obstacle, a zig-zag balance test and physical measurement.
• Stage 3 - Medical Test: Candidates who also clear the rally stage appear for the medical examination and document verification.

After all the stages are completed, a merit list is declared with the names of successful candidates. The selection process has been made easier and more streamlined to use the latest IT infrastructure available in the country.

Eligibility for Agniveer Recruitment 2026

Candidates between 17.5 and 21 years of age can apply for Agniveer posts. The educational qualification varies by category, from 8th pass to graduation level. Minimum physical standards include a height of 170 cm and a chest of 77 cm with a minimum expansion of 5 cm. Candidates should check the official notification for post-wise details.

Salary Structure under Agnipath Scheme

Selected candidates serve for four years under the Agnipath scheme. The monthly salary increases every year. After a 30 percent contribution to the Agniveer Corpus Fund, which is matched by the Government of India, the in-hand amount works out to about Rs 21,000 in the first year and around Rs 28,000 in the fourth year.
