Odisha receives Special Recognition Award for highest PMAY-U 2.0 reforms

Odisha got a Special Recognition Award from the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) for making the most reforms under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U) 2.0.

The award was given on October 5, 2026, in New Delhi as part of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban Awards 2026. It shows the state's work to make urban housing processes simpler and improve how things get done.

Housing and Urban Development Minister Dr. Krushna Chandra Mahapatra said they want every eligible urban family to get a safe home using a clear system. He added that Odisha will keep working on faster rollout and reaching all eligible people under the scheme.
