Ayushman Bharat Yojana
Ayushman Bharat Yojana – National Health Protection Mission (AB-NHPM) is the flagship scheme of the Modi government for poor people. This scheme will reduce financial burden on poor and vulnerable sections arising out of catastrophic hospital episodes and ensure their access to quality health services. AB-NHPM seeks to accelerate India progress towards achievement of Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and Sustainable Development Goal.
Ayushman Bharat – National Health Protection Mission will provide financial protection (Swasthya Suraksha) to 10.74 crore poor, deprived rural families and identified occupational categories of urban workers families. The beneficiaries will be selected on the basis of Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC-2011) data (approx. 50 crore beneficiaries). This scheme is also known as Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Swasthya Suraksha Mission (PMRSSM) which will have offer a benefit cover of Rs. 500,000 per family per year.
