Tripura Health Sector Transformation Report 2022-2026

Tripura hit a health target with its infant death rate dropping to 15 per 1,000 births. This is the lowest number in state history as of September 2025. Government Niramay Arogya Initiatives worked to improve hospitals and medical training over the last four years.

Health infrastructure updates

Changes include starting Tripura University of Health Sciences and Agartala Government Dental College. This college now has 63 BDS seats. Medical colleges in the state grew from two to four since 2022. The state is also working with AIIMS, New Delhi, to turn Agartala Government Medical College into a center for advanced medical care.

By linking Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and Chief Minister Jan Arogya Yojana, 2023, families can get free, quality treatment. This includes complex operations like kidney transplants.
