Bihar Approves 11 Lakh New Homes Under PMAY

Rural families in Bihar have an update regarding housing. State government officials approved building 11,28,937 new permanent houses for 2026-27. This plan helps families currently living in temporary shelters.

Housing program progress

Officials in Patna recently held a Grih Pravesh ceremony to mark the completion of 2.35 lakh homes. They gave keys to eligible families and handed out new sanction letters for housing support under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary previously discussed 19 lakh pending housing applications with Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. This new target addresses that demand and helps more poor families get a secure home.
