APSPDCL connects 1 lakh rooftop solar systems with 210 MW capacity in six months

APSPDCL has connected 1 lakh rooftop solar systems to the power grid in six months. The total capacity of these systems is 210 MW, making it the first discom in Andhra Pradesh to reach this number. The installations are at eligible scheduled caste and scheduled tribe households across the nine districts under APSPDCL's jurisdiction, under PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.

APSPDCL has set a target of 2.07 lakh SC and ST consumer households with a combined capacity of 415 MW. This is as per official figures on the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy's ULA portal. Chairman and managing director Shiva Shankar Lotheti said the remaining 1.07 lakh installations are being taken up on priority.

PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana plans to install one crore rooftop solar systems across the country.
