APSPDCL crosses 1 lakh rooftop solar connections for SC/ST households

Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (APSPDCL) has completed one lakh rooftop solar connections for SC/ST households. The total capacity is 210 MW. This happened in six months under the Utility-Led Aggregation (ULA) model of the Centre's PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.

Installations are in nine districts under APSPDCL: Tirupati, Nellore, Chittoor, Annamayya, YSR Kadapa, Kurnool, Sri Sathya Sai, Anantapur and Nandyal. APSPDCL aims to cover 2.07 lakh SC/ST households with 415 MW capacity. With one lakh done, 1.07 lakh households remain.

The ULA model groups eligible households and helps with installing, commissioning and connecting rooftop solar systems to the grid. Rooftop systems at homes produce power for use. Extra power goes to the grid as per rules.
