Andhra Pradesh lays foundation for 3 lakh PMAY-G 2.0 houses

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan started building 3 lakh homes across the state under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) 2.0 scheme.
They visited a family in Burripalem village, Guntur district, which will get a home built with 3D printing. It is the first project of its kind in India. The test includes 117 homes in Burripalem and Obulanaidupalem villages for ₹14 crore. A single home takes 10 days to build. The team expects to finish the pilot in six months.
Naidu said the Centre first gave Andhra Pradesh 75,000 homes under the normal quota. After a special request, this rose to 3 lakh. He added that Chauhan promised another 3 lakh homes after this batch finishes, plus another 3 lakh next year. This makes the total commitment 9 lakh homes.
The state wants full housing coverage by 2029. These 3D printed homes stay at least 8 degrees Celsius cooler inside than outside.
