Rajasthan government's Nirman Shramik Shiksha Kaushal Vikas Yojana offers scholarships to children of registered construction workers from class 6 up to postgraduate level. The scheme is accepting applications through the labour department portal at labour.rajasthan.gov.in.

Under this scheme, children of construction workers get financial support for their studies. Students studying in class 6 and above, including ITI, diploma, graduation and post graduation, can apply and get the scholarship benefit.

Eligibility for Nirman Shramik Shiksha Kaushal Vikas Yojana

Only those who meet the conditions below can get the scholarship under this scheme.

• The applicant must be a construction worker registered as a beneficiary in the mandala.
• Only the son, daughter or wife of the registered beneficiary is eligible for the education support (scholarship).
• A maximum of two children, or one child and the wife, of a beneficiary can get the scholarship. If both husband and wife are registered beneficiaries, then a maximum of two children can get the scholarship. There is no limit for the cash reward to meritorious students.
• The student must be studying regularly in class 6 to post graduation level in a government school or a private school or college recognized by the central or state government.
• The student must be studying regularly in a government or recognized private ITI and polytechnic course running in the state.
• For the cash reward, meritorious students must have passed class 8 to 12 exams with 75% marks or an equal grade. For diploma, graduation and post graduation level exams (including medical, engineering or other professional exams), they must have passed with 60% or more marks or an equal grade.
• For the wife of a beneficiary to be eligible for the scholarship, her age must not be more than 35 years and she must be studying regularly in an educational institution.
• The scholarship for any year is payable only after passing the related exam.
• After the summer break, the student becomes eligible for the scholarship only after taking admission in the next class when the institution reopens. However, after passing the final exam of class 12, diploma, graduation or post graduation, taking admission in the next class is not required.
• As per section 17 of the Act and rule 45 of the Rules 2009, a beneficiary who does not deposit the contribution continuously for one year stops being a beneficiary. So the children or wife of such a construction worker will not get the scholarship. If the beneficiary is restored under the above section and rule, the scholarship is paid.
