Madhya Pradesh government offers a cash incentive of ₹2 lakh under MP Inter Caste Marriage Yojana, also known as Antarjatiya Vivah Protsahan Yojana. The scheme supports couples where one spouse belongs to a Scheduled Caste and the other spouse belongs to a different caste.
Scheduled Caste Welfare Department of Madhya Pradesh is implementing the scheme through its official portal scdevelopmentmp.nic.in. Couples who register their marriage under Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 and apply within one year of the wedding can get the incentive amount along with an appreciation certificate.
The main aim of the scheme is to remove untouchability and caste-based thinking from society. A couple where a non-SC young man or woman marries an SC young woman or man is rewarded and appreciated by the state government.
What is MP Inter Caste Marriage Yojana 2026
MP Inter Caste Marriage Yojana gives financial support to newly married inter-caste couples. When the marriage is between an SC person and a person from another caste, the District Collector prepares the selection list after checking the application. Selected couples receive ₹2 lakh as incentive along with a prashasti patra (certificate of appreciation).
The incentive amount was earlier ₹50,000. After an amendment in the scheme rules, the amount was increased to ₹2 lakh. The department has rewarded hundreds of couples every year under this scheme. In 2012-13, 365 couples received benefit; in 2013-14, 478 couples got the incentive; and in 2014-15, 387 eligible couples were covered.
In the current financial year 2026-2027, the scheme is still in place for couples who register their inter-caste marriage properly. Applications are accepted for marriages performed within one year of the date of the wedding.
