Karnataka Yuva Nidhi Scheme is an ongoing unemployment allowance scheme for educated youth in the state. Under this scheme, graduates and diploma holders who are unable to get a job receive monthly financial help from the government directly into their bank accounts.
Launched in January 2024, this scheme gives temporary financial stability to young people so that they can focus on searching for jobs and skill training. As of 2026, the scheme continues, with over 3.2 lakh applications made so far.
This scheme is now linked with the Karnataka Kaushalkar portal, making skill training registration mandatory to continue receiving the allowance. The process for self-declaration has also been changed from monthly to quarterly submissions, reducing paperwork and making it easier for beneficiaries.
Latest Updates on Yuva Nidhi Scheme
- Self-declaration is now submitted quarterly on the Seva Sindhu portal instead of every month, which reduces paperwork.
- Beneficiaries should check the Seva Sindhu portal for the current declaration window and submit it on time to avoid payment delays.
- Quarterly declaration system started from March 2025 (no more monthly declarations).
- Beneficiaries must register on the Kaushalkar portal for skill training to continue getting benefits.

Voter List Now Linked to Yuva Nidhi Benefits
Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has said that only voters whose names are in the electoral roll will get benefits under the state guarantee schemes, which includes Yuva Nidhi. During a review meeting at Vidhana Soudha, he asked officials to make sure no eligible person is left out, while stopping ineligible people from misusing the schemes. So youth who want to keep getting the allowance should make sure their names are in the Karnataka voter list.
With the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls going on in the state, the CM has asked beneficiaries to check that their names are not removed during this exercise. If a name gets dropped from the voter list during SIR, the benefit could stop, so it is worth checking your status on the electoral roll now through the ECI portal or the Karnataka CEO website. The government has also said the schemes should benefit only Karnataka residents, and benefits going to people from other states will be stopped.
