Kanya Sumangala Yojana: UP pays ₹25,000 per girl in six instalments

Uttar Pradesh pays ₹25,000 to each eligible girl under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana, in six instalments tied to her health and schooling stages.
The scheme, run by the state Women and Child Development Department, began on 1 April 2019. A girl gets ₹5,000 at birth and ₹2,000 after full immunisation, then ₹3,000 each on joining Class 1 and Class 6, ₹5,000 on joining Class 9 and ₹7,000 when she enrols in a graduation or diploma course after Class 12. The amount was raised from ₹15,000 to ₹25,000 per girl from 2024-25.
Families must live in Uttar Pradesh and show proof of residence, such as a ration card, Aadhaar card, voter ID or an electricity or telephone bill. Annual family income must not exceed ₹3 lakh, at most two daughters of a family can get the money, and the family must have no more than two children. If a woman gives birth to twins in her second delivery, the third girl child also qualifies. For an adopted orphan girl, only two girls in the family, including biological and adopted daughters, can get the benefit.
Apply online through the Citizen Services section of the official portal, mksy.up.gov.in. The portal also lets families check whether a girl qualifies.
