Bahraich: 4.53 lakh Ujjwala beneficiaries to get free LPG refills in two phases this year

Around 4.53 lakh people registered under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana in Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh will get free LPG cylinder refills in two phases in financial year 2026-27. The first phase runs from October to December and the second from January to March.

The money for the refills goes straight to the registered bank accounts of eligible people. A consumer has to complete e-KYC, link the bank account with Aadhaar and finish Aadhaar authentication to get it.

Around 45,000 Ujjwala consumers in the district have not done e-KYC yet, the supply department said. They will not get the refill until the checking is complete. District Magistrate Rajesh Kumar Pandey said e-KYC is required for the free refills during Diwali and Holi, and asked people to finish it early.

Who is registered in Bahraich

A total of 4,53,599 people are registered through 71 gas agencies of three oil marketing companies. Of them, 1,80,868 are with Indian Oil Corporation Limited, 1,77,742 with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited and 94,989 with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited.
