Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has started UPFPO Shakti Portal as a part of Kisan Kalyan Mission at an event in Gorakhpur. This UP Farmer Producer Organization Shakti Portal aims at benefitting the farmers at the grassroots level. UP FPO Shakti Portal Registration 2024
The newly launched Uttar Pradesh FPO Shakti Portal is the first of its kind initiative in the country. The official link to access UP FPO Shakti Portal is http://www.upfposhakti.com/. The Farmer Producer Organization-centric (FPO-centric) portal will bring farmers, producer groups, traders and the agriculture and other allied departments of the UP government on one platform. UP FPO Shakti Portal Registration 2024 process has been started and people can now apply online at the official website or app.

At the launch, CM Yogi Adityanath lauded the efforts of the agriculture department. The agriculture department of Uttar Pradesh is making tireless efforts to support the farmers and FPOs in the state. Earlier, UP had taken precedence in introducing various agri reforms and now the state govt. has launched the country’s first portal fully dedicated to its farmers.
Benefits of UP FPO Shakti Portal
The UP FPO Shakti Portal launched by the state govt. of Uttar Pradesh will have the following benefits:-

- Facilitate National and Trans-boundary trade
The portal was developed with technical and funding support from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF).
Information at UP FPO Shakti Portal
The farmers of UP state will be able to download the necessary documents required to form the organizations directly from the UP FPO Shakti Portal. Each FPO will have its own section that will comprise the details of its members. The portal will contain all information on the FPOs, their key activities, organisational structure and produces.

UP farmers can also download UPFPO SHAKTI app on android phones for easy access. It will facilitate quicker resolution of disputes.
FPO Status in Uttar Pradesh
The UP state currently has 576 FPOs comprising around 2.15 lakh farmers. Out of these, 471 FPOs have registered themselves on the UP FPO Shakti Portal. A farmer will also get relevant information on specific subjects around one’s village/block/district or state. The information will be delivered through texts, emails or audio/video in language that one understands.
The portal may play a significant role in meeting national objectives, such as generating employment, reducing malnutrition and empowering women, among others.
Need for UP FPO Shakti Portal
While access to markets remains a key barrier for farmers, access to information on them and their produces is a key barrier for buyers. The portal provides a practical interface between buyers and FPO to engage with each other. This demand-led production will drive transformation in Indian Agriculture.

In the second phase, all other relevant stakeholders will be brought on to the portal. The FPO Shakti portal is a one-of-a-kind in the country, and a welcome step that will significantly accelerate progress towards better productivity and income, nutritional security, and higher quality of life for small-scale producers, especially women. This portal will realize the vision of UP govt. of integrating its agriculture program around food systems, smart extension, market integration, and gender mainstreaming, while also accelerating investments in technology.
