Himachal Pradesh government has launched HP Swaran Jayanti Middle Merit Scholarship Scheme 2024 for meritorious students of govt. schools. In this scheme, the state govt. will provide scholarships to meritorious students studying in class 6th, 7th, 8th of government schools. What is HP Swaran Jayanti Middle Merit Scholarship Scheme 2024
HP govt. will provide scholarships to meritorious students studying in class 6th, 7th and 8th of government schools. HP Swaran Jayanti Middle Merit Scholarship Scheme is being implemented to identify and nurture talent at an early stage. The students are selected for the scholarship scheme through a state level examination, which is conducted by the SCERT, Solan, every year.
Amount under HP Swarna Jayanti Middle Merit Scholarship Scheme
The following is the scholarship amount for meritorious students under HP Swarna Jayanti Middle Merit Scholarship Scheme:-
- Class 6th – Rs. 4,000 per month
- Class 7th – Rs. 5,000 per month
- Class 8th – Rs. 6,000 per month
Number of Scholarships in HP Swarnajayanti Middle Merit Scholarship Scheme
Under the HP Swaran Jayanti Middle Merit Scholarship Scheme, total hundred scholarships would be distributed among twelve districts of the state. The scholarships would be distributed to class 6th, 7th, 8th students as per quota determined based on an average enrollment of government schools in the state. Here is the number wise scholarships which would be provided to meritorious govt. school students in 12 districts:-

- Chamba – 12
- Hamirpur – 5
- Kangra – 14
- Kinnaur – 1
- Kullu – 8
- Lahaul Spiti – 1
- Mandi – 14
- Una – 7
- Shimla – 11
- Sirmour – 11
- Solan – 11
Eligibility Criteria for HP Swarn Jayanti Middle Merit Scholarship Scheme
- To avail the benefit of the HP Swarnajayanti Middle Merit Scholarship Scheme for consecutive 3 years, the student must continue to study in the government school without repeating any class.
- It would be mandatory for the students to have atleast 75% attendance during the session for which the student is to be awarded the scholarship.
- In genuine case of acute illness or any medical exigency, condition of 75% attendance will not be applicable.
Himachal Pradesh state govt. is determined to provide quality education to students of the state. For this purpose, the state govt. has launched several other schemes in the state. One such scheme is Medha Protsahan Yojana. This free coaching scheme aims to encourage the students of the state to perform better. Under this scheme, state govt. will provide free of cost coaching to meritorious students for preparing themselves to compete in national level competitive examinations after 12th Standard.
