The redesigned SVAYEM Scheme Assam 2024 will be launched with a budget of Rs. 1000 crore which is to be spent in the next 3 months without any banking linkage. The 2 lakh beneficiaries would have to be part of self-help groups, joint liability groups etc.

Swami Vivekananda Assam Youth Empowerment Yojana aims to generate employment opportunities in rural as well as urban areas through setting up of new ventures as well as growing existing ventures. Eligibility Criteria for SVAYEM Scheme Assam 2024

All the applicants must fulfill the below mentioned criteria to become eligible for the SVAYEM Scheme Assam 2024:-

• Applicant must be a permanent resident of Assam state.
• The age of the applicant must be less than 40 years.
• He / She must have passed matriculation i.e 10th class.
• The applicant should be a part of the existing Self Help Groups, Joint Liability Groups etc.

Redesigned SVAYEM is the biggest self-employment programme launched by any government in Assam since Independence. Works to be Given under SVAYEM Scheme 2024 in Assam

Groups under SVAYEM Scheme Assam 2024 would be given free contracting licence to pick up work in departments like Flood Control, PWD. These groups can pick where they want to work and they would be given free registration. All the 10th class pass candidates whose age is less than 40 years can apply for the SVAYEM Self Employment Scheme. Even the existing self help groups (SHGs) who already have bank accounts can also apply for the scheme.

In the redesigned Swami Vivekananda Assam Youth Empowerment Yojana, amount will be seed capital and not as loan amount. For this purpose, Rs. 1000 crore has been set aside for the SVAYEM Scheme in Assam and the state government plans to continue with the scheme every year.
