UP supplies piped water to 2.25 crore households

Uttar Pradesh has completed piped water supply to 2.25 crore households against a target of 2,67,20,000 households across 68 districts. Functional household tap connections cover 98.50% of target households in nine districts in Vindhya and Bundelkhand.

Under Har Ghar Jal Yojana, tap connections have been provided to 100% of households in 38,317 villages. Gram panchayats have certified 28,309 villages as Har Ghar Jal.

A government spokesperson said that under Jal Jeevan Mission, more than 5.20 lakh km of pipeline has been laid against a target of approximately 5.64 lakh km. The spokesperson also said clean drinking water supply has been ensured in 1,16,340 schools across the state, and over five lakh rural women have been trained to test water quality.
