Rajasthan Police to Establish Special Cell for Welfare Scheme Fraud

Rajasthan Police is setting up a special cell to stop money fraud in government welfare schemes. Police Director General Rajeev Kumar Sharma has ordered the appointment of officers to run this system. They will specifically watch over schemes like Samman Nidhi, Janani Suraksha Yojana, and Pradhan Mantri Bima Yojana.

This plan helps detect fake documents and false claims early. It makes sure public money reaches only eligible people. During a recent meeting, officials noted that total crime in the state dropped by 17.25% in the first seven months of 2026 compared to 2024. Police also reported progress in cybercrime investigations and the arrest of 1,248 suspects linked to organized crime during a recent drive.
