Farmers Protest in Hanumangarh Over Atal Bhujal Yojana Subsidy

Farmers in Hanumangarh district, Rajasthan, held a tractor rally on Wednesday to ask for the release of pending subsidies for farm ponds. These farmers built ponds under Atal Bhujal Yojana, but say the money they were promised is still unpaid after a long time. Many farmers took out loans for this work and are now struggling to pay interest.

Rally details and demands

The rally started at Dhan Mandi market, where protesters pushed through police barricades. A scuffle happened between farmers and police during the event. Farmer leaders Raisahab Pachar and Resham Singh Manuka said they submitted many letters to officials without success. They have now warned of more protests if the government does not clear these payments before the upcoming urban body and panchayat elections.
