Rajasthan to set up Atal Knowledge Centres in every gram panchayat; 3,219 km roads planned under PMGSY

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has asked officials to speed up rural development work and announced Atal Knowledge Centres, also known as Atal Gyan Kendras, for every gram panchayat in phases. These centres are rural learning hubs with e-library facilities for self-study and competitive exam preparation. Financial approval has been issued for 1,607 centres up to December 2025.

Under the fourth phase of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, about 3,219 km of roads will be built in Rajasthan. Roughly 1,500 km is scheduled for completion in 2026-27, with the rest planned for the following year. Under Atal Pragati Path, concrete roads are being built in rural areas with populations above 5,000. So far, 764 works worth Rs 1,681 crore have been sanctioned and 309 completed.

Around 7.22 lakh workers are currently employed under Viksit Bharat-G RAM G scheme, 2.30 lakh more than last year. About 215 lakh person-days have been generated over the past two months, with women making up more than 72 per cent of the workforce. The state has developed 9,134 village sports grounds, while another 2,221 are nearing completion.

The government is developing 457 Amrit Sanjeevani Parks at a cost of Rs 228 crore. Work is under way on 28,342 model ponds and Amrit Sarovars. More than 11,000 Amrit Poshan Vatika gardens will be developed at a cost of Rs 550 crore, with approvals worth Rs 237 crore issued for 8,501 works. The state also plans to set up 457 Amrit Gramin Haats.
